How does the pump work?

The pump is rechargeable and charges by USB-C, so charge it before you leave. Attach the pump to the vacuum pack's valve and switch it on. It draws the air out, and the bag tightens around your clothes as it goes. When the bag is flat, take the pump off and close the valve. Pack the pump alongside the bag so it's ready for the pack home.

Is it hard to use?

No. Fill the vacuum pack, close the seal, attach the pump and switch it on. The pump does the job your hands would otherwise do, so you're not kneeling on a suitcase or rolling a bag from one end to the other. Repacking on the last night of a trip works exactly the same way as packing at home.

How is it different from compression packing cubes?

The vacuum pack takes the air out with a pump. The Neat Fit Compression Cubes (6-piece set) press clothes down with a second zip and your hand, and keep each group of clothes in its own zipped unit. They do different jobs, so plenty of travellers use both. The vacuum pack takes the bulky layers. The cubes hold the clothes you reach for every day.

Will it make my bag lighter?

No, and it's worth knowing before you buy the vacuum pack. Vacuum compression saves space, so you fit more clothes into the same bag, and more clothes means more weight. If your airline weighs carry-on bags, check its limit before you fill the bag to the seal. Used with that limit in mind, the vacuum pack gives you room for bulky layers that would otherwise force you to check a bag.

What kind of bags does it go in?

Carry-on suitcases, checked bags, backpacks and duffle bags. Once the air is out, the vacuum pack lies flat, so it sits along the bottom of a wheeled case or slides upright into a backpack. The pump is small enough to pack alongside it, so everything you need to repack travels in the same bag.

Is it suitable for delicate clothes?

It suits everyday clothes like jumpers, fleeces, pants and jackets. Vacuum pressure holds fabric tightly in place, so tops that crease easily are better folded and kept out of the vacuum pack. Put those pieces in a Neat Fit Compression Cube with the compression zip left open.

Which clothes compress the most?

Bulky, soft items press down the most, such as jumpers, fleeces, puffer jackets and spare bedding. Thin T-shirts and pants compress less because they hold less air to begin with. Put your bulkiest layers in the vacuum pack. Keep dense items like jeans folded at the base of your bag, where their weight keeps everything steady.

What goes well with the vacuum pack?

Two products work alongside it. The Neat Fit Compression Cubes (6-piece set) sort the clothes you open every day, by type or by person, so you're not opening the vacuum bag to find a pair of socks. The Journey Hanging Toiletry Bag keeps your toiletries together and hangs up once you arrive. Keep toiletries out of the vacuum bag so nothing gets squeezed against your clothes.

Are your prices GST-inclusive?

Yes. Every price on the site is a single figure with GST included. Standard postage is free on Australian orders, so the price of your order is your total unless you choose paid express. The checkout shows a full breakdown before you enter any payment details, so you can confirm the total before you commit.

How do I clean the vacuum pack?

Follow the care instructions supplied with your order. Wipe the bag inside and out with a damp cloth and let it dry completely before you seal it again. Keep the pump out of water and wipe it with a dry cloth only. Make sure the valve is clear of lint before your next trip.

How should I store it between trips?

Empty the bag, open the valve and fold it flat. It takes up very little room in a drawer, and you can keep it inside your empty suitcase with the pump so both are already in place next time you pack.

How do I make it last?

Look after the seal and the valve and the bag keeps doing its job. Don't overfill the bag so much that the seal strains to close. Run your fingers along the seal before you pump to check no fabric is caught in it. Keep the valve clear of lint and loose threads. Keep the pump dry and switch it on once before a trip, so you know it's ready for the pack home.

What if they're not right for me?

You have 30 days. Pack your products for a trip. If they don't earn a place in your bag, send them back for a refund. Our returns page sets out the current conditions, so you can see exactly what applies before you order. We'd rather you judge them in a real suitcase than from a photo.

What does Kinovia sell?

The Kinovia SpaceSaver Vacuum Pack, a reusable vacuum compression bag with a small electric pump. Alongside it, we sell the Neat Fit Compression Cubes (6-piece set) and the Journey Hanging Toiletry Bag. Together they do one job. They get your clothes and toiletries into your bag flat and sorted, so it closes properly. We'd rather explain a few products properly than list a dozen we can't.

How do I contact Kinovia?

Use the contact page on our website. Include your order number if your question is about an order, and add a photo if something arrived damaged or wasn't what you ordered. That gives us what we need to sort it out in one reply instead of three.
